beer, diet, low carb

Low-carb life – begins tomorrow!

Making a huge change in my diet beginning tomorrow – and fitness changes on Monday!

Gained some weight over the summer. More than the ten pounds I’ve talked about. More like 18. They gotta go. My daughter is a type 1 diabetic so a low carb diet would lower the carb intake and lower the units of insulin she has to inject daily. I’m hoping to lead by example. I feel like if I can get through the first 2 weeks, I can do anything. Please don’t ask what I’m gonna do about my love for beer…. Will have to reserve for special occasions;)

Memorial Day marked the start of summer. I lost my senses and gained a sh*t ton of weight since then. Labor Day divinities the unofficial end of summer. These extra pounds can leave with summer, too!

Off to find my willpower and change my eating habits – and return to bad ass gym girl!

  1. Hi Marisa! Thanks for the encouragement! I followed your blog, too:) I’m 3 days into low carbs and doing alright. I downloaded The New Atkins book after a friend of mine recommended it. I really need to buckle down and do induction, I think. For the last 3 days, I have had a lot of eggs, meat, some cheeses, green leafy veggies, but I also had 2 Atkins brownies, which have 2 net carbs (I an not supposed to really eat those during induction:) ) and I did have a couple of adult beverages with my neighbors this weekend. A couple, though. With liquor and diet soda or sparkling water. Again- a no-no at induction time. But the change in diet, combined with my return to a more scheduled fitness regiment, has me feeling this is working. I know I can do it…but I won’t lie- my love for beer is going to get in my way sooner or later!
